Sam's Cycle Service - Sales and Service Since 1976
                                        1988 BMW R100RS - $7,000.00

Only 33,114 miles! The analog clock still keeps time!
Very nice original BMW survivor! This is a 2nd owner collectable bike in almost perfect museum condition.
As with most BMW's it has a very sound motor and transmission. I was very impressed with my test ride. Everything works as it did when new except for the rubber boots that block the air entering under the upper fairing. They are there but are half dry and wont stay in place after riding for a while.
In case you are buying this for a museum or show piece I will leave the boots on for now but if I was going to ride it then I would cut them off.
It looks like original paint but I cant tell for sure. There are some light scratches as pointed out in the detailed pictures. There is some very minor surface rust or just red on the center muffler collector but no real rust issues. The mufflers look amazing!
Two of the plastic screws that mount the wind screen are missing.
The seat and back rest are by Corbin. We did a full inspection and installed a new high cranking Motobatt battery.
The tire tread is in very good condition.
Other than the minor cosmetic issues this rare bike needs nothing.
The fork seals do not leak. There are no oil leaks and no leaks of any kind. As shown in the video there is NO exhaust smoke.
If you park any BMW air head on the side stand for long then you will probably upon start up see some normal smoke at the left muffler.
I did not notice any smoke upon start up.
This bike shifts very smooth. The engine sounds very smooth, it idles nice and rides like it did when it was new.
The gauges, volt meter, clock, tachometer, speedometer and all the instrument lights work well.

Please watch the video and see the many pictures.
Thanks for taking the time to share in the fun, pride and adventure we find on and off road.
I have been right here in this same location since 1976 and full time with employees since 1982.
We service everything we sell.

We have the clear title, shown in the last picture. I am licensed and bonded with the California DMV. I am also a licensed vehicle verifier. If you are in California then I will also collect the sales tax of 7.75% plus a documentation processing charge of $70.00. Plus the registration, title and California plate fees of $162.00. My buyers (you) never pay back fees or DMV registration penalties.
I will give you a temporary registration permit on the spot and your new registration, title and plate will come to you in the mail. You will not stand in line at the DMV and there will be no surprises. If you are outside of California and you ship by common carrier then you will pay only the purchase price and I will hand you or mail you the title. I must have a copy of the shipping contract from the driver when picked up or a bill of lading.
Without proof of shipment via common carrier I would still need to collect the 7.75%
sales tax.
