It has plenty of power and is freeway legal. There is a lot of storage space under the seat for 2 helmets and much more.
I have seen people riding these on cross country trips. According to real time owners on fuelly.com these get over 50 miles per gallon. Yamaha claims a top speed of 103 miles per hour.
Yamaha quality is always preferred over cheap shiny new China made scooters that are not supported.
Personally I stick with known, trusted and supported vehicles.
